Renovation work in St. Elisabeth Church, Hamburg-Harvestehude

THE PROJECT

We are looking forward to celebrating the 100th anniversary of St. Elisabeth Church on November 26, 2026, in a beautiful and festive setting. Along the way, we have already achieved remarkable progress:

Thanks to your support, we have successfully completed several major projects: the renewal of the Rudolf von Beckerath organ, the painting of the organ gallery, the restoration of the processional cross and holy water basin, as well as the restoration and repainting of the two altar windows and altar area. Now, we are focusing on the church nave.

Additional urgent renovation work in our church is planned, and we hope to accomplish it with a fundraising campaign and your support.

THE FUNDRAISING GOAL

The estimated cost for painting and restoring the six nave windows (clerestory windows) is €200,000.

FINANCING

Our existing building reserves are insufficient for this project. Therefore, in addition to other funding sources, we continue to rely on your loyal support. Please open your heart and help ensure that St. Elisabeth remains a place of spiritual and social belonging for many people in the future.

You can determine the amount of your donation by selecting as many donation fields as you wish – they can be freely combined. You may contribute towards painting (€70 per sqm per donation field) or the clerestory windows (€60 per pane per donation field). Each complete clerestory window consists of 120 panes, with rectangular segments containing 12 panes. Of course, donations of any other amount from €30 upward are also welcome.

For donations of €300 or more, you will receive a donation receipt. Please provide your full name and address for this purpose (see also FAQ).
